Screen changers (Melt Filters) filter contaminants such as foreign particels (metal, wood, black spots e,g,)and unwanted particles such as unmolten material from the melt. The subsequent components such as melt pumps, coextrusion adapters and slot dies are protected from damages due to of metal particles, the quality of the melt and thus the end product is improved and kept constant.

By changing the screen regularly, the screen changer can continuously ensure high purity and quality of the material. Intelligently controlled screen changers improve the efficiency of the extrusion process (screen changes without interrupting a constant flow) and ensure consistent quality.
